Verdant depths guarded by a species of leafy bugs. Pools of burning acid and thick overgrowth make navigation difficult.

Description

Greenpath is an exuberant green cavern, composed of a diverse vegetation, mossy valleys, and broad lakes of acid. These features have deeply reflected in its inhabitants, who developed a natural mossy camouflage, allowing them to perfectly blend with their surroundings. [1]
Greenpath South Area

Acid Lake

Throughout all of Greenpath, pillars and egg-shaped stones with swirl carvings, sometimes reaching enormous sizes, can be frequently spotted.

Zote the Mighty can be found in the north part of the area being attacked by a Vengefly King. The Knight will have the choice to either save him or leave him.

In the northwest part of Greenpath, to the left of the arena where Hornet is fought, the Lake of Unn can be found with a lone Moss Knight standing on the edge of the pier next to the shrine. Further left, on the other side of the lake, Unn can be encountered at the bottom of the lake.

At the end of a challenging path full of thorns and Durandas in the southwest sector of the area is Sheo's Hut, where the Knight can learn the Great Slash nail art.

In the very southeastern portion of the area, near the connection to Fog Canyon, the Stone Sanctuary can be found at the end of a dark passage below the Bench room. In the section above, lies the Hunter in his lair set up in a small cave.

Lore

Greenpath is inhabited by the Mosskin Tribe, a group of plant-like bugs.[2] They had a shared relationship with Hallownest, allowing the Pale King to build roads throughout their lush caves with the condition that anything straying from the paths would be subordinated to their laws. [3]

Lake of Unn Shrine

The most glaring displays of their skills of carving and construction are the lore tablets scattered across Greenpath and the temple built to worship their god, Unn, on the shores of the Lake of Unn, where the Higher Being was said to appear. [4]

Unn is said to have created all of the area's flora and the mosskin themselves from her dreams.[5] She is calling the mosskin, who are waiting for the call to return. [6][7][8]

The region now known as Greenpath used to be much more extensive, stretching over Queen's Gardens and possibly Fog Canyon. [9][10]

How to access

Elder Baldur blocking entrance

In order to enter Greenpath, an Elder Baldur must be defeated. This requires the Vengeful Spirit to be acquired from the Snail Shaman in the Ancestral Mound.

 Sub-area: Lake of Unn

An acidic lake located at the northwest part of Greenpath that can be accessed after defeating Hornet. At the edge of the lake is a small structure with a stone statue of what appears to be Unn and a Bench inside. The Shape of Unn Charm can be obtained in a hidden area to the west of the lake, given by Unn herself. Crossing the lake becomes possible once Isma's Tear has been acquired.

Sub-area: Stone Sanctuary

A dark sanctuary filled with spike pits in the southeast part of Greenpath. The area can be illuminated with the Lumafly Lantern. This is the resting place of the Warrior Dream No Eyes.
