Flying creature that fires out dirtcarvers from its body when potential prey comes close.
Are these creatures the mothers of the dirtcarvers? They appear only loosely related. But then how do the dirtcarvers get inside of the hatchers? A confusing situation.
Behaviour and Tactics
Spawns Dirtcarvers while hovering above the Knight, will try to back away and evade when the Knight gets close.
It is best to take care of this enemy first in a fight, as otherwise, it will continue to spawn enemies and make the fight more difficult.
After spawning five Dirtcarvers, it starts swooping and chasing the Knight to bite them. While doing so it will start to emit a strange gurgling sound.
|Dream Nail Dialogue|
- Carver Hatchers' gurgling noise when swooping and attack the Knight is labelled under the name "Fluke_fly_attack_loop" in files. Combining this and their similar-looking design to the Fluke species found in the Royal Waterways, it is possible that Carver Hatchers are some sort of variant Fluke species or related closely to Flukes.
- The Hunter's sentiment in the journal description also describes how he sees little relationship between Carver Hatchers and Dirtcarvers.
